Luxury cottages and gîtes to rent in Brittany

As a holiday gîte in Brittany, Priory was the original Manor and subsequent presbytery in Saint-Cadou. The Priory is one of our cottages to rent in Brittany and it dates from 1640 and is the oldest dwelling in the hamlet and local area.  The style of the building is typical for the local area and is known as a ‘Maison Anglaise’. You can visit a local museum which will show you just how the Priory would have originally been.

Parties who have hired multiple gîtes have previously used Priory as the main dining and social space.  We can assist with this if required by providing additional dining and seating capacity.

We have often found that grandparents enjoy their own space in the Hayloft or Stable for example and use the larger Priory space for mealtimes etc.

We can arrange for a cot and highchair upon request at no additional charge.

About the Priory

Priory retains much of the character of the original building including oak beams, exposed slate stonework, and wooden floors, which has been combined with modern conveniences making it one of the most lovely holiday gîtes in Brittany. The most impressive part of the house is the vaulted ceiling in the main living room around the huge stone fireplace which now houses a large wood burning stove. The ancient spiral stone staircase which leads to the mezzanine level which houses a king sized French four poster bed as the main bedroom area.

Smoking is not permitted in any of the gîtes at Kergudon.
